Append Data

The Append Data allows user to selectively append custom user data to the model with the ability to have pre-saved templates for simplicity and consistency. This command can be useful for adding custom data on the fly.

The following steps will show you how to append data to elements.

STEP 1:

Go to Standard Tools in the iConstruct menu and click Append Data button.

STEP 2:

Define Attribute Name as tab name(iConstruct Data in our example).

STEP 3:

Name the property (For example: Work Pack Number).

STEP 4:

Type in Property Value (WP001 in our case).

Tip: Right-click on the field to set the dates.

STEP 5:

Select if you want to append property to Groups, Items or both from the drop-down menu.

STEP 6:

Select action to apply and check Create New Tab if Non-Existent if necessary.

STEP 7:

Check Apply Colour / Transparency Overrides (optional) to define colour and transparency of selected object.

STEP 8:

Check Save Viewpoint as if you want to create current viewpoint after applying data. When this is ticked you will be prompted for a comment also, just click ok to dismiss if no comment is required.

If you want to save a template type in the Name and click Save or just click OK to apply to the selected elements.

Go to iConstruct panel ➤ Click on Append Data ➤ Define Attribute Name ➤ Name the property ➤ Define Property Value ➤ Select Apply Property To ➤ Check Exists Action ➤ Check Create New Tab if Non-Existent ➤ Apply Colour ➤ Select a Name ➤ Save
