Column Type

The following steps will describe various column types you can use to define data for workpackages and build a relationship between data.

In this article:

"Step 1"

Aggregations allows you to combine data to create a relationship between two items and calculate data with multiple mathematical applications (Join, Take first, last, most common element, Count).

In this example we will step through how calculate a sum of hours.

Value

Simple column to use Text, Boolean, Date Time, Decimal Number, Whole Number, Positive Whole Number or Image.

Allows you to select from data fields in a dropdown menu from another column.

Expressions

Creating an expression will allow you to edit a property value. You can edit most properties by adding formulas or expressions (Text, Boolean, Date Time, Decimal Number, Whole Number, Positive Whole Number, Image).

In this example we will show how to create the workpack code in the WPs table, to add the CWP field to the workpack code naming convention.

STEP 1:

Select the WPs table and click on the + icon to create new column.

Define a Display Name and select Expressions as a Column Type from the dropdown list.

"Step 2"

STEP 3:

In Data Type, you can select what type of data to set whether it is a Text, Date, Boolean, Whole number etc.

"Step 3"

STEP 4:

Select Expression Editor.

"Step 4"

STEP 5:

In the top portion of the dialog box will display the final expression. In this situation we will define WP CODE bases on WP number and CWP value. To do this, search for CWP from the bottom fields, double click it and it should pop up to the upper portion of the displayed experssions.

To add separetor type in +’- ‘+ and continue with adding WP number after.

STEP 6:

Select OK and you will see the Expression added in the properties table.

"Step 6"

Lookup

Column with dropdown option dependent on lookup column from another column.

Dependency

Create a dependency column with a summary type.
