WBS

Create multiple Work Breakdown Structures (WBS’s) for each discipline in a project to create Workpackages. The WBS needs to be assigned before relationships in the staging table are created.

STEP 1:

Go to the Datasource and click the + icon to create new WBS.

STEP 2:

Give your template a name and press OK. You will see a new WBS has been created with a new staging table.

STEP 3:

Select the edit icon to define WBS.

STEP 4:

In the AWP Coding Structure, select the column items from available fields which you want to have in your WBS Structure and press the green arrow to move the items over to the Selected Fields. The order of the items is how they will appear in the WBS Structure. Use the other arrows to get the correct order as needed.

STEP 5:

Press OK. A dialog box will appear letting you know that it will erase any processed data. If you have already created work packages, this will delete them. This step needs to be completed before you create any work packages. You can see and switch between all the WBSs in the dropdown menu.

Note: you can also select to edit, duplicate and remove a WBS from the icons on the Current WBS bar.

STEP 6:

To set WBS in the Control Panel and elements in the model, right-click on the element in the model and select AWP - Set WBS Filter. This will filter out the data and display only elements in this WBS.
