# Get Started

The following video will show you how to get started with Clash Manager feature. In this article we'll review how to group clashes, save a grouping Layout and how to switch between them and lastly push Clashing Groups back into Clash Detective.

# STEP 1:

Go to Standard tools in iConstruct panel and run the Clash Manager tool.

# Note: Prior to running the tool, you need to run clashes in Clash Detective otherwise they will not be available for selection in the next step.

Select your test from the drop-down menu.

Click on the Column Chooser button in the Clash manager ribbon. Drag and drop desired activities from the Column Chooser to the tree structure in Clash Manager dialogue to define the desired grouping Layout.

# Note: Check Group by Properties and Group by Zones article for detailed guide on how to define grouping by Properties and/or Zones.

# STEP 4:

Before we continue with Saving the Layout, let's quickly review the newly defined clash groups. This can be done either by individually expanding or collapsing each grouping level by clicking on the arrow icon next to the Test or the Group name or simply by clicking on the Expend All. or Collapse All. icons.

# STEP 5:

Once your grouping layout is set, click on Save icon in the Clash Manager ribbon, give your Layout a name and Save. "Step 5"

# STEP 6:

Saved layouts can later be reused with other clash tests and models as well as used in BIMflow. You can switch between different pre-saved layouts from the drop-down menu.

# Note: To switch between Layouts, at least two are required.

To push defined grouping back into Clash Detective select desired grouping level (Test Name: Structural vs HVAC in our example) and click on the Create Clash Detective Group icon in the ribbon. "Step 8"

Click OK and update the groups.

Go to iConstruct panel ➤ Open Clash Manager tool ➤ Select your test(s) ➤ Define the desired grouping Layout ➤ Save layout ➤ Select desired grouping level ➤ Click Create Clash Detective Group button ➤ Click OK
